Joel Dudley PhD
Professor of Genetics & Genomic Sciences
Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai
Working to integrate and model the digital universe of information to improve human health and vitality. Applying what is now fashionably called Big Data approaches to molecular (e.g., genomic) and healthcare data to discover networks of connections and information flows between cells, tissues, patients, environment, and populations that we can transform into new knowledge on human biology and health.
The ultimate goal of my work is to build an intelligent, learning healthcare system that enables predictive health, wellness, and precision medicine. I co-authored the book "Exploring Personal Genomics" to help inform and educate students, clinicians, and citizen science on the emerging field of personal genomics. Outside of academic research I am interested in spinning out and advising start-ups to help deliver real-world value from scientific innovations.
