As co-founder and CEO of UNYQ, he and his team is rediscovering prosthetics and orthotics using among others 3D printing, bringing personalization, digital optimization & data integration to the industry. The company takes something that used to be a source of frustration or indignity and turns it into a means for self expression, pride and ultimately better outcomes. Eythor has been an innovation and business leader in the emerging field of robotics and bionics for more than a decade. As CEO of Ekso Bionics, he commercialized a wearable robot “Ekso,” which enables wheelchair users to stand and walk. Before that, he was CEO of Rex Bionics, a company that helped pioneer exoskeletons for people with paralysis. As president of Ossur – the Icelandic orthopedics company and designer of non-invasive lower limb technologies – he and his team grew the business from a start up to a global, publicly traded organization with over 1,600 employees. Before Ossur, he was with Hewlett Packard in the European Medical Diagnostics and Computer Imaging Groups located in Germany. Eythor is a native of Iceland, with a Masters in Business and Economics from Germany. He is a frequent speaker on innovation at conferences such as TED, TEDx, and the Aspen Ideas Festival.
