Andrea is a reporter and editor working in news media. Her work can be seen, and heard, on a number of networks, Including NPR, PBS, CBS and the BBC.
In her current role as KQED's Sr. Science Editor, Andrea helps lead a talented team covering science, technology, health and the environment for radio, television and online. Andrea also hosts KQED's Emmy award winning science television series, "QUEST."
Most recently she helped KQED launch a new, multimedia Initiative covering the intersection of medicine, health care and emerging technologies.
Andrea has earned a number of accolades for her work including awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and the Associated Press. She was awarded a fellowship from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and completed a Masters in Telecommunications at Ohio University.
Andrea enjoys engaging students around such topics as the disruption of journalism and communicating to the media. Most recently she taught science communication to integrative biology graduate students at the University of California at Berkeley.
